Daisy Chain Drop In Sessions

Daisy Chain drop-in sessions are for parents and carers of children who display traits associated with, or have a diagnosis of, a neurodevelopmental condition including: autism, sensory processing, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or Foetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). A diagnosis is not needed. Sessions are being held across the whole of the Tees Valley area, with venues in Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees. The sessions will be running until end of March 2023, during term-time only.

Their sessions will provide a safe space for parents and carers to meet others in a similar situation and provide the opportunity for peer support, enabling parents to support each other, share experiences and ideas. These groups are facilitated by a Family Support Team Leader. The aim is to provide a supportive and empowering environment for our parents and carers.

There will be multi-agency drop-ins and peer-support drop ins available. Details on these can be found within the documents you can download below. Multi-agency drop ins are designed so parents/carers can meet a representative from other services and agencies who may be able to support their family, child or young person. For details of upcoming multi-agency drop-ins in your area, and who will be attending please visit Daisy Chain’s Facebook Group.

Peer support drop ins are designed to be relaxed and informal, providing you with the opportunity to meet other parents/carers in similar situations and discuss any topics or situations that you might be finding  challenging, as well as sharing positive stories, top tips, strategies and information. A member of the Family Support Team will always be present at these drop-ins to provide support and facilitate the group.

The drop-in sessions and format will vary slightly depending on each area. For further details of all upcoming sessions please click on the links under the Local Authority headings below to see up to date flyers containing details of the drop-in’s available.
