Cervical Screening

Cervical screening

Cervical screening checks the health of your cervix (the opening to the womb from your vagina). It is a test to help prevent cancer and is offered to all patients with a cervix aged 25 to 64. During the appointment, a small sample of cells will be taken from your cervix and they will be tested for any changes. Detecting any abnormal changes sooner rather than later means that you can be monitored and treated before they potentially change into a cervical cancer.
