We will respond to you by the end of the next working day with advice, medication, or an appointment, or within 72 hours if you have an administrative request.

Patient Online Services – NHS App and Patient Access

There are a handful of extremely secure online services which allow patients to book appointments with the GP team, order repeat prescriptions via the internet, and look at their own medical records.

Our most popular online services are the NHS App and the Patient Access App. (note that Patient Access can also be accessed through the internet at their website.)

Use your computer, tablet or smartphone to book appointments, order your repeat medication, and access other useful services.

To be able to access these services you will need to download the app and register for it. You can register for the NHS App yourself without any information from us here at the practice.

Under some circumstances, this registration will require some additional information from us – please contact us if this is the case.

 

Communicate With Us Online

Sometimes when we return your telephone call we may be able to better understand your problem if we can see you virtually.

We now carry out remote video consultations (much like face time etc) where you can both speak to, and see, the GP on your mobile device.

We may also ask you to send a picture in for us to look at, e.g. of your rash or sore throat.

We use a service called AccuRx for this. Answers to some common questions are available on the AccuRx patient website.

REMOTE VIDEO CONSULTATION – We will send you a text message with a link to a website – you click on the link and it connects us online. This video shows you how to start the video consultation.

SENDING A PICTURE – If we request for you to send a picture, this video will show you how to send us one. You may also find this video useful about how to send us a clear picture of the back of your throat.

 

Text Messaging

AccuRX and MJOG

As well as being able to offer remote video consultations as mentioned above, AccuRx also allows us to send one-off text messages to patients.

We can use a wide variety of pre-defined templates, compose our own message, send you healthcare links to information available on the NHS website, and can even send attachments to you if it is appropriate e.g. sicknotes.

AccuRX can be used to initiate questionnaires for us to find out how you are getting on with your health conditions. The info is sent back to us and added to your medical records.

We can also use MJOG to send communications out to a large number of patients at once.

You will receive texts via MJOG for general info that all patients might need to know or for large campaigns such as flu season or Covid 19 vaccination.
